Written and illustrated by Mami Tsumura, Kotaro Lives Alone (コタローは1人暮らし, Kotarō wa Hitori Gurashi) is a Japanese seinen manga series serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior from March 2015 to June 2023, collected in ten tankōbon volumes. The story centers on Kotaro, a mysterious four-year-old boy who moves into an apartment building to live entirely on his own. Despite his age, Kotaro proves remarkably self-sufficient, though his unusual independence and formal demeanor draw the protective concern of his neighbors, who gradually uncover the poignant reasons behind his solitary life. The series was also adapted into a ten-episode live-action television drama broadcast on TV Asahi in 2021.
